PART-TIME PLOW DRIVER
The town of Washington is seeking applications for a part-time/on-call Plow Truck Driver within the Public Works Department for the 2023-2024 winter season. This position requires that the employee report to work during winter operations when the weather dictates, including nights, days, weekends, and holidays. This position will operate light and moderately heavy trucks and motorized equipment in the snow and ice removal operations of the Public Works Department. Duties will include operating trucks, sanders, and front end loader in the sanding and snow removal of town streets.
Position requirements: This position requires a Commercial Drivers’ License (CDL) Class A or B with an excellent driving record. Truck driving experience is required. Applicants will be required to undergo testing for alcohol and controlled substances prior to employment. Applicants will be subject to further testing throughout their period of employment. Candidates must have a thorough knowledge of the standard practices, methods, and equipment for snow removal as well as a working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the job.
